KeNako South African World Juniors

Tournament Information


1 Schedule and Format:

54 Hole individual stroke play. 18 Holes per day. Commencing 5th March 2013. A sponsors AM AM event will take place on the 3th March. 30 players will receive invitations to this event once entries are received. Official practice round 4th March

2 International Team Competition
An International Boys Team and separate Girls Team Competition will be held simultaneously. A team consists of 2 players of the same nationality, nominated by a national Federation (or an equivalent body). Countries can enter more than 1 team. The team score will be the aggregate of gross scores of each team member for each stipulated round. The winner will be the team recording the lowest aggregate score.

3 Eligibility
The World Juniors is open to amateur golfers, both boys and girls, who:
3.1 Were born in 1994 or later;
3.2 Are members of a golf club affiliated to a national golf federation recognized by the World Junior Golf Foundation;
3.3 At the time of submitting an entry shall have a handicap of:
Boys: 2 or better; Girls: 5 or better.

4 Field Size
120 Participants. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to change/limit the size of the field. One third of the field will be designated for girls. If the field is limited, the Tournament Committee shall apply the following guidelines in determining which entries shall be accepted:
4.1 Handicap;
4.2 International event finishes;
4.3 National event finishes;
4.4 International and National Ranking Systems;
4.5 Tournament Committee Invitations.

5 Entry: Closing Date and Procedures

5.1 International Entries close on 4thth February 2013; All players must be or become a member of the World Junior Golf Foundation on the terms and conditions as determined by the Foundation. International entries register directly on the http://www.wjgs.org web site.
There will be no entry fee for international participants.
5.2 South African Entries close on 8th February 2013. South African players must first register on the KeNako tournament webpage.www.kenakosaworldjuniors.com. ONLY when entry is confirmed will South African players then be required to become a member of the WJGF and pay the WJGS membership fee and then will follow the registration procedure on the WJGS website. 5.3 Late entries may be accepted at the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee; All information required in the entry form must be provided accurately and in full.

6 Prizes
On conclusion of 54 holes:
6.1 The winner of the Boys Competition will be awarded the KeNako Trophy as well as prizes being awarded to the players finishing from 1st to 5th place.;
6.2 The winner of the Girls Competition will be awarded the KeNako Trophy as well as prizes being awarded to the players finishing from 1st to 5th place.;
6.3 The winning boys and girls team in th8.1 Practice prior to Monday 4th March 2013: a player must make his or her own arrangements with the tournament venue. To book a practice round at Kingswood Golf Estate the player must call +27 (0) 861 72 71 70 during office hours (08h00 to 17h00 South African time GMT + 2 hours). Green fees and other costs are at the sole discretion of the club. You may also email your request to golf@kingswood.co.za; 8.2 The World Juniors’ official practice round is Monday 4th March 2013. Bookings for the official practice round open on Monday 18th February 2013 to Saturday 2nd March 2013. To book an official practice time please email golf@kingswood.co.za 8.3 All official practice times booked for Monday 4th will be posted on www.kenakosaworldjuniors.com and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. These times are open for players participating in the Junior Masters only. 8.4 From Saturday 2nd March 2013 onwards, times that are available can be booked at the Tournament Office; Limited times will be available for practice on Sunday 3rd March, 2013 after the AM AM field has competed play – approx. 3.00pm onwards. 8.5 Each player is responsible for making his or her own practice time booking. e International Team Competition will each be awarded the KeNako Trophy as well as a prize for each member of the winning team;
6.4 The winner’s trophies are floating trophies and will remain in the KeNako Golf & Sport Academy.
6.5 It is compulsory for all players to attend prize giving.

7 Registration
Competitors must register at the designated Player Registration desk at KeNako Golf and Sports Academy between the hours of 10h00 and 14h00 on Sunday 3rd March and 09h00 and 16h00 on Monday 4th March 2013. Failure to register within the prescribed time period will result in the player forfeiting his or her place in the tournament unless mitigating circumstances can be proven.

8 Practice Rounds
8.1 Practice prior to Monday 4th March 2013: a player must make his or her own arrangements with the tournament venue. To book a practice round at Kingswood Golf Estate the player must call +27 (0)

and other costs are at the sole discretion of the club.

9 Am Am
The sponsors of the Junior Masters will stage an Am Am on the Sunday 3rd March 2013 at Kingswood Golf Estate with up to 30 four balls. Each four ball will comprise of 3 guests and 1 invited junior player, who is competing in the World Juniors. The Am Am will be shotgun start at approx. 9.30am.

10 Rules of Golf and Close of Competition
The World Juniors will be held in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited and the Local Rules approved by the Tournament Committee. The Local Rules will be published and posted on the tournament notice board at the venue. Note: Players will be permitted to use devices that measure or gauge distance only. The competition is deemed to be closed when the trophy has been presented. Play will not be extended beyond Thursday 7th March 2013

12 Hotel Accommodation
International players will be hosted at the Protea Hotel King George Bed and Breakfast for the duration of the tournament from Sunday 3rd March to Friday 8th March (5 nights) South African players will be hosted*** at the Protea Hotel King George Bed and Breakfast from Monday 4th March to Friday 8th March (4 nights) ***(note conditions on S A Entry form).
